"Oh wow"

"Oh wow" is a phrase I hear often from my little guy. He is 21 months and quite the talker. I have been trying to take notes of some of the cute things he says and does. The days are flying by!

Phrases he says very often: "Oh boy!, what in the WORLD?!, open sesame!, hey you kid!, cowabunga!, what IS that?!, play witchoo Mama/Daddy?!, get up Mama/Daddy!, good morning!, how are YOU?!, feel better soon!, happy birthday!"

Did you notice that everything ends in an exclamation point? That's because he talks at a level 10 all the time. We are trying to teach him to use an inside voice.

Big words he says surprisingly well: "Pumpernickel, porcupine, limousine, cowabunga, centipede, scorpion"

Favorite things or activities (in order of importance): Garbage trucks, scorpions & spiders, the vacuum, the moon, the iron and ironing board, playing with the mayo, mustard, ketchup and ranch bottles from the fridge, trucks, playing kitchen, coloring with markers, going to HyVee (he recognizes HyVee & Target by sight), going to library storytime

Sigh. Needless to say, he keeps us very entertained and equally worn out. There are so many more things I could tell you, but it's neverending. I'm daydreaming of springtime and can't wait to get back outdoors daily with him. And to celebrate his second birthday in April!

Time Capsule

A couple of months ago I took an e-course from my friend and fellow Shutter Sisters contributor Xanthe Berkeley called Creating Time Capsules. She so beautifully captures her daily life (living in London with her adorable family) and is an absolute master with video editing. Xanthe's course encourages students to create slideshows and videos of their typical "day-in-the-life".

I intended to share my first project much sooner than this, but better late than never! Here's a short slideshow I created to show a typical trip to the park with Quinn.

I'm excited to move on to my next Time Capsule project! I'm just not sure what it will be about yet...

a warm november day

JT, Kate & Declan are great friends of ours and it was so fun to photograph the three of them on a warm day recently. I hope our boys will continue to be friends as they grow up (Quinn likes to lay on his belly on the floor and crawl while saying "baby Declan?").

Family sessions: photo wrap-up

Here's a little recap of my favorite family photos of the season. It's so fun to run around with the kids and get to know new families each year.

Seniors: photo wrap-up

I've been a bit behind on blogging about my sessions this fall. So I decided to just do a little wrap-up and post some of my favorites! Stay tuned for the family sessions wrap-up in a couple of days.
